If you are nervous you won’t get you ‘the shots’ you want – sometimes you need to be bold and daring to be able to capture that special moment to make it everlasting. Timing however is everything and thinking ahead to get in the right position for next key moment is so important so as not to disrupt the wedding ceremony. In a ceremony, wedding photographer Melbourne tries to move around at least 4-5 times but try to time the moment to coincide with songs, sermons or longer readings. During the formal shots, be bold, know what you want and ask for it from the couple and their party. You are driving the show at this point of the day and need to keep things moving.Wedding photographers Essex Bespoke Photography visit locations of the different places that you would like photographed before the big day. This is to ensure the suitability and assess the technical side of photography for that location. You will find it really helpful to know where we are going. Have an idea of a few positions for shots and to know how the light might have an effect. On one or two weddings you might have even visited locations with the couples and took a few test shots.

Have a look at Bespoke Photography website and check out our style of work. Find out what you want to achieve, how many shots you want, what key things you want to be recorded, how the shots will be used. If you are charging them for the event, make sure you have the agreement of price in place up front. Photograph rings, backs of dresses, shoes, flowers, table settings, menus, etc. This helps you give the end album an extra dimension. Flick through a wedding magazine in a news stand for a little inspiration.

And try to shoot with one wide angle lens and one longer lens. The ability to bounce a flash or to diffuse it is a key factor. You will find that in many churches that light is very low. If you are allowed to use a flash, think about whether bouncing the flash will work or whether you might want to buy a flash diffuser to soften the light. A lens with image stabilization might also help.

So, you need to be well prepared for a wedding photographer. Have a backup plan, have batteries charged, memory cards blank, think about routes and time to get to places and get an itinerary of the full day so you know what’s happening next. Attend the rehearsal of the ceremony where you can afford to gather a great piece of information about possible positions to shoot from, the lighting, the order of the ceremony etc. One of the great things about wedding photography Essex is the immediacy of it as a medium. Capture the moment through the kaleidoscope of wedding photography Essex.

Weddings are expensive and complex events, and it often seems tempting to a couple to accept the services of a friend or family member in order to save money and time. However, there are several very clear benefits to having a professional wedding photographer. With a combination of experience, artistic approach, and choice of equipment, the professional wedding photographer’s work will stand out.

Experience
The very best reason to hire professional photographers is their experience in dealing with all the possibilities of the wedding day. Even though a non-professional who photographs weddings may be quite a capable photographer, the experienced professional wedding photographer has the ability to deliver work of a higher standard in a wide variety of situations.
Although brides and grooms spend months planning their weddings, in the end, a wedding will always be an uncontrolled and spontaneous event. Timelines frequently change on the spur of the moment. This is where an experienced photographer can improvise and adapt. Experience gives the professional photographer knowledge of the flow and timing of a wedding day, and allows them to capture images that highlight the most important moments throughout the day—the emotions, the laughter, and the spontaneity.
A wedding is also the time when family members from afar meet each other again. The portraits, whether formal or candid, become a timeless keepsake of friendships and relationships. Quite often, however, the time allotted for the portraits becomes compressed when things run slower than intended. An experienced wedding photographer will be able to create these important family photographs, even under pressure and working within unexpected time constraints.
Finally, a professional photographer also knows to look for and react to key moments, especially the subtle ones that others might miss. For example, one of the key moments that I always look for during Catholic ceremonies is during Mass when the bride and groom sit next to each other during the ceremony. This is the first time that attention is not directly on them and inevitably the newly wed couple will lean closer and whisper to each other. As an experienced photographer, I expect this moment and am prepared to photograph it when it happens.

Artistic Approach
Modern wedding photography may veer more towards a story-telling or photo-journalistic approach, but it is still equally important to photograph the family groups and help portray the relationships within the families. An experienced photographer knows this and can fluently mingle approaches to give the bride the best possible images.
The portrait session is another time where the professional photographer’s approach gives a very specific signature to the wedding photographs. Through the portraits a photographer can help lend a sense of drama or playfulness to the photographs of the newlyweds.
In this way, wedding photography becomes collaboration between the couple and the photographer. The couple’s choice of photographer also becomes an artistic choice. The client chooses how they want to be portrayed on their wedding day.

Equipment
The professional wedding photographer’s cameras and lenses also make a big difference. At a fundamental level, a professional wedding photographer will have extensive experience with the equipment he uses; he will have backup equipment in case of failure or damage.; he will most likely have professional quality gear that is more likely to withstand extremes of temperature or humidity; he will most likely have access to a wider variety of lenses, lights, and accessories than the non-professional will.
This translates into a stronger stylistic expression on the part of the experienced professional. Being able to pick from a variety of lenses, lighting accessories, and so forth to obtain a specific look or feel to the photographs, becomes a choice for the photographer. The experienced photographer is then not limited by his equipment.
By the very nature of the work, professional wedding photographers love working with people, and tend to be warm and personable. And coupled with being sensitive to people on a very important day, the bride and groom will often feel as if they are having a friend photograph the wedding. A very capable friend.
All of this, along with the photographer’s artistic sensibility and vision, will allow the bride and groom and their families to have the best possible photographs of the day.

Hiring a wedding photojournalist does not mean you’ll be forsaking all portraiture at your wedding. Newspaper photographers have been taking portraits for decades. Many wedding photojournalists focus on relaxed portraiture – a directed image where the subject may or may not be looking at the camera. While such images can give the impression of being candid, a wedding photojournalist would never try to pass off the picture as a real moment.

Wedding Photojournalism and Reportage is here to stay! Stacks of bridal magazines with conflicting information can help to complicate the search for the right wedding photographer.

Brides looking to sort out the confusion over the term photojournalism need only read a newspaper and look at the storytelling images found within.

It was from newspapers that “wedding photojournalists” borrowed the phrase to describe a documentary approach to wedding photography focusing on real moments, instead of staged moments. Remember that picture of dad getting pushed into the church by his groomsmen? While such an images may inspire a chuckle or prompt a sudden gag reflex, it was very common for traditional wedding photographers to direct and stage beyond the standard posed portraits.

In the 1990s a few brave wedding photographers dared to begin marketing with the word “photojournalistic or reportage’ to describe their approach to wedding photography. Instead of stopping action to get their shot, they stayed in the background and looked for real interactions and emotions that told the story of the day.

As magazines picked up on the new trend, others hopped on the reportage bandwagon as well, including those that still faked real moments. Adding to the confusion, several other styles developed during the same period – elements of fashion photography, beauty photography, and fine art photography were all being used in wedding photography.

Some of the most successful wedding photographers dabble in several different styles. But some photographers have carved out a niche, focusing on one style in particular. There are photojournalistic purists who will not tamper with any part of a scene, not even to move a beer bottle that may be in the way of their perfect cake shot. Others do not play by the same rules, or any rules.

Some traditional photographers insisted photojournalism was merely a fad or a “buzzword.” But the buzz has persisted and many of the country’s top wedding photographers use a reportage documentary approach. We are now past the point of calling photojournalism a “fad.” It’s simply what many brides want.

Another popular misconception is that this new generation of photojournalists do not understand the equipment because digital photography has made photography so easy. While it’s true that digital photography has simplified the process somewhat, most experienced wedding photojournalists have a great understanding of their equipment. In fact, many of the top wedding photojournalists have come directly from the newspaper industry, where they were leaders in the photojournalism field.

Others may argue that wedding photojournalists really do stage their moments.

But for a true wedding photojournalist to stage or try to recreate a moment goes against everything the term stands for. While such staged moments could fool the average onlooker, the bride and the photographer will always know it is fake, and the image may not stand the test of time.

In the end, the trite arguments of photographers are of no consequence to the discerning bride and groom. They will pick the photographer that is right for them based on style and budget. And if wedding photojournalism is right for them, they will know the difference.

When selecting wedding photos for your album there are a few things to consider – the album style, the album size, the amount of images included in your package. Also when selecting wedding photos you want to consider whether you are telling a story or just displaying favorites.

The album style

Do you prefer a mat style (where all photos are mounted under or within textured mats) or a magazine style album, which often include overlays and collages of your wedding photography. Mat albums are generally bound by leather, fabric, or even metals or plastic. Flush mount albums offer the same bindings as mat style and page thickness are about the same. The coffee table album is just that, the style of book that would be displayed on your coffee table, or found in your bookshelf. Coffee Table albums have thinner pages, so even though these books are thinner they tend to have a lot more pages to play with.

The album size

A flush mount (magazine style) album will generally fit more of your wedding photos than a traditional mat album. Coffee table albums can fit even more wedding photos. More pages equals more story. A bigger album (10×10 vs. 14×14) may give you a little room for more wedding photos but generally it just means bigger images.

What’s included

Some packages may include 50-75 images, this would be enough to show off you favorites from your wedding day, if you are trying to tell a story this is the time to consider an upgrade in package or start adding images to your existing package. Bespoke Photography offer excellent deals on wedding photography, a package offering 100 -200 will allow better room to tell your story.

More formals or more documentation

Depending on how many formals were taken, how big the wedding party was, or how many family groupings were done, formals can fill an album quick and not leave much room for a story. If doing a Mat or Flush Mount album you might want to consider doing two albums if you find yourself in this situation, one album for formals only and the other album for the story. A Coffee Table album will leave you room for both.

There are a variety of options available when it comes to wedding albums. It can sometimes be overwhelming to choose, the first thing to consider is how many and what types of albums you will need. While some brides choose one main wedding album, a growing number of brides are to selecting a volume set of two or more albums to display as a collection.

Wedding albums range from matted to flush-mount and magazine-style to coffee table–but what do these terms mean? For the unknowing bride it’s hard to decide. Make sure you discuss all of your options with your wedding photographer. Become educated. Your wedding photographer should be knowledgeable and offer suggestions to assist you in the process. Be sure to keep your parents in mind, as they would appreciate a beautiful keepsake from the big day.

Once you have decided what type of album you would like, the options for customizing it are endless. Try not to become too overwhelmed–again, allow your photographer to guide you in the process. The styles available today are beautiful and include custom leathers and some non-traditional materials such as wood and metal. Don’t be afraid to choose something that fits your personal style. Too often I see couples choose the same thing that everyone else has. This is your wedding album, and it should reflect your personal style.

When it comes time to choosing images for the album, there are still more options. Some photographers allow the client to choose the images and then design the album based on those choices. Others will deliver a pre-designed album to the client with their favorite images in it, choosing images that tell the story of the entire day. There are a number of ways to choose your images, but one thing that remains the same across the board: Trust your photographer! He is an expert, and you should listen to any ideas you are presented. Ultimately, you will only ever have one wedding album, and you want it to look perfect.

After the images have been selected and the design process is underway, you can still make changes. Check with Gary Ridgewell the wedding photographer in Essex to see his policy, because sometimes charges will apply for rounds of changes. Once it is all approved – off to the manufacturer it goes! There are abundant album companies available and turnaround times vary. Most albums will be completed in a six to eight week time frame, but again, you want to check with your photographer.

When the waiting time is over, you will most likely receive a call or email with the good news that your wedding photography album has arrived. Your reward for your patience during the entire process is a beautiful album that is yours to keep and pass on for generations. Allow it to grace your coffee table so visitors can “ooh” and “aah” over this customized piece of art!

For more information on wedding photography please visit our web site.

Wedding photography is an exciting field with many photographic hobbyists looking to make some extra money on the side providing cheap wedding photography.

After paying hundreds for just the dress alone, never mind the church, the flowers, the reception and all of the food and drink. It’s very tempting to book a cheap wedding photographer; after all, the photography is probably the last thing you want to think about.

Choosing your wedding photographer is the most important thing to do when planning your wedding. In fact it should be the first thing you do.
First-class wedding photographers get booked up months in advance so don’t leave it to the last minute to book. However saying that, there could be a few dates not booked, so give them a ring and see if your date is free.

Obviously everyone wishes for the dress to be beautiful, the flowers stunning, the food to be delicious and the reception to be charming. The wedding photographer, however, really should be one of the top things on your list of essential items.
If you choose a poor quality wedding photographer, it will be felt in every photograph that you look at.

Nothing is more significant than your wedding photography. Why’s that? Well, just think about it – what happens when your wedding is over? The flowers are dead, the dress gets freeze-dried (or whatever it is the cleaners do) and put in a box, the cake is eaten, and a year after your wedding you won’t even remember what you ate. All you’ll have left from this day are your memories – and your photos are the doorway to those memories.

Down to the tips:

1. DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHER HAVE MANY DIFFERENT PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE SAME WEDDING TO SHOW YOU?

I’d be concerned if they were all from the same wedding.
Proper professional photographers have taken wedding photographs for many different brides and that should reflect in their work.
On the other hand if you only see one photograph from each wedding I would suspect that the photographer only gets one good picture from the whole day.

You need to know that they are consistent and have taken photographs at many different weddings with at least three different pictures from each wedding in their gallery or book.

As an average guide, photographs from three recent weddings are appropriate.

2. DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHER LISTEN TO YOU?

A photographer that talks all the time about how great they are is someone you should be wary of. If a professional is not prepared to listen to you then they are not very professional, I mean how do they know what you are looking for?3. DO YOU ACTUALLY LIKE THIS PERSON?

You will be spending the most important day of your life with a stranger, make sure you like them. If the photographer’s personality clashes with yours, you could be in for an unhappy day – or at least an awkward one.
Why risk being unhappy on the most important day of your life? That’s why reading the photographer’s personality is, in my opinion, more important than analyzing their portfolio. Will they be officious? Offensive? Aloof? When you talk with a prospective photographer, get a feel for them and see if they are someone you’d want to be friends with.
If the answer is “yes”, then put them high on your list!

4. A PROFESSIONAL HAS STYLE.

A professional photographer will have a distinct style and taste. The photographs may be in black and white or in colour; you may see lots of manipulation in the images or none.

5. AN AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER POSING AS A PROFESSIONAL WILL NOT HAVE MUCH OF A STYLE.

Their images will look uninteresting and vulgar. If their style is all over the place then you can bet your life that they are not professionals.

6. WHAT ARE THE IMAGES LIKE?

a. Are the images flat?
b. Too dark or too light?
c. Can you see the details on the wedding dress or is it just a white blob?
d. Do the people in the pictures look awkward or distracted?
e. Do the group photographs look messy?
f. Are the backgrounds in the pictures cluttered?
g. Do the backgrounds compete for attention for the people in the picture?
h. Are the people looking at the camera?
i. Do they still have their heads?

If you answer yes to these questions then I would say that the photographer is not a professional.
There are exceptions though; with the Photojournalistic style, most people in the pictures are not looking at the camera and the backgrounds can be a little distracting.

Also ask the photographer where the photograph was taken; sometimes they have done the best that they can do. This is especially true with registrar weddings, where the registry offices are usually situated in or near industrial areas where the backgrounds are not very pretty anyway.

7. DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHER SEEM PROFESSIONAL?

This is the most difficult one to gauge as many people know to dress smartly and it’s easy to learn the technicality of the camera, the terminology to explain the photographs and sell their presentation.

You can never know for sure but there are a few pointers:

a. Ask them if they do photography as a full time career?

i. If they answer yes then it’s one point in their favour.
ii. If they say no, then ask them what else they do. If it’s a completely different field, like building or office work, then they aren’t a professional photographer, they will have nothing to lose if they mess up the photographs of your wedding.

b. How long have they been in business?

i. Anything under a year is suspect, mainly because they will probably not have enough experience with professionally covering weddings outside the seminars and courses.
ii. Two to three years is good, the photographer has probably had enough wedding experience to know what to expect and how to deal with any situations that may arise.
iii. Anything over three years is very good (as long as it is their full time employment) as it shows that they are doing pretty well and they should have a good reputation.

Ask about the photographer with your friends and acquaintances; see what reputation they have achieved. If it’s good then they can be trusted, if not then don’t trust them, think of it as a confidence rating.

c. How many weddings have they photographed?

i. This is important, if they give you a figure under 20 then be on your guard and take all of the other answers into account when finally deciding on whether to book them or not, especially take into account how many years they have been in business. If they have only done 20 weddings in two years, then perhaps you shouldn’t book them. 20 is a very low number of weddings for two years; you can expect an expert photographer on average to photograph at least 20 weddings per year.
ii. If they give you a figure over 200 and they’ve been in business for only a couple of years then they are blatantly lying. There is no possible way for them to have covered so many weddings in two years.
iii. For a business that has been operating for two years, a reasonable figure for weddings covered is 60.

d. Does the photographer go on seminars and courses if so which ones?

i. If they haven’t been on any courses or to seminars and say that they are completely self-taught, then they are definitely amateur photographers. Professional photographers frequently attend seminars and courses to keep fresh, and their skills honed to a fine point.
ii. If they have been on a few courses when they started up then they are not committed to quality and excellence within their photography and probably cut corners a lot. Be wary of these.
iii. If they attend general courses, not specific to wedding photography then question their commitment to their craft.
iv. If they go on specialist courses on wedding photography quite often, then excellent! This proves that they are committed and focused on their craft.

I frequently attend specialist courses on specific styles of wedding photography. This is to keep me fresh and at the peak of my profession. I do learn from books and practise often but you can only get so far learning by yourself and there is absolutely no substitute for hands on experience and training.

8. DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHER HAVE A CONTRACT?

A photographer who doesn’t have a contract is not to be trusted. If you purchase any kind of service, from plumbing to photography there must be a contract. This is to protect you from anything that can go wrong and also so you know exactly what you are getting. The contract can either be long and complicated or short and sweet.

The photography contract guards against a photographer not completing their end of the bargain. It also protects you from them taking your money and running. It also allows you a legal entitlement to the service you have paid for and also tells you what you are allowed to do with the photographs. The contract should also have a section attached which tells the photographer all of the details of the wedding.

9. DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHER ASK YOU ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TAKEN ON THE DAY, DO THEY ASK YOU ABOUT FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS AND FAMILY POLITICS?

The photographer should ask you about the photographs that you would like on the day, a wedding is a great event that gathers together many estranged family members and there is usually only this day to photograph them all together. Many relatives will be coming from far flung places and the photographer must know to get these important people.

A wedding is a very emotionally charged event and the photographer should ask and know about any potential problems between family members so they don’t start any fights.

As well as knowing all of this, the photographer should ask for a liaison within the wedding party, it’s usually an usher from both sides of the family, some one who knows all of the family members by sight. Remember the photographer has probably never met your family before so appointing them someone who knows everyone that will be there is paramount to getting everyone you would like photographed in the right place at the right time.

10. PRICE: “If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!”

I honestly wouldn’t look at your photography budget the same way I would look at the budget for example; your wedding dress.

a. You might get lucky and find a cheap and talented photographer for under £500 for a whole day coverage, but like most things in life you get what you pay for and you will most likely end up with nothing like you asked for, poor quality, badly composed photographs or no photographs at all!

b. If you can find the budget to move out of the bottom range and into the next level (say, £500 to £1,000 for half day coverage) you will expand your choices of truly professional photographers greatly and you will no doubt end up with gorgeous photographs that last a lifetime.

c. If you move to the next level (say, £2,000 – £4,000) your choices expand exponentially, because now you’re not limited to the photographers in your local market, you can begin to source from photographers that are willing to travel nationwide.

d. The price of the service is obviously important to you, as you have probably already spent thousands on the wedding itself. There is no point scrimping on the photography. As mentioned above, everything else gets eaten, forgotten or put into storage, the photography pretty much the only thing you will have from your day to show everyone.

Everyone has a budget, try your best to stretch that budget and book a professional photographer for as long as you can get them, you won’t regret it.

This article is designed to give you an overview of different wedding photography styles, and other thoughts on wedding photography today. Including brief definitions of each style, what is popular, and a few questions to help you choose the type of photography and photographer that is right for you. This article is not however, a comprehensive guide to choosing a wedding photographer. Some technical details are however, briefly mentioned. There will be a multitude of questions you will want to discuss with your potential photographers that is not covered in this article.

Styles of Wedding Photography

We all know that the wedding day will not last forever, and most valued memories will be forgotten. In fact, the only thing that is left to remind you of this special day is your photos. Your wedding photographer must be a person that you are comfortable with and whose presence you enjoy. You will not only be investing money and time into him/her, you will be investing all your future memories as well. During your wedding day you and your family will be interacting with this person all day. Therefore, you should not decide on a photographer based only on price, but on their style and personality as well.

There are four different approaches that photographer’s use: Traditional, Photojournalistic, Illustrative and Creative.

Traditional photography is any formal or informal portraits of the bridal party, family, and friends in close-up and full length, as well as candid photographs of key events at the wedding. Most brides choose this mixed version of photography for their wedding day.

Photojournalistic means no posed photographs – all pictures would be taken without any instruction from or awareness of the photographer.

Illustrative photography looks like the photos that you see on billboards, and magazines. This is set up like a commercial photography shoot; the photographer arranges every detail of the image.

Creative or Artistic photographer takes pictures from unique angles, lighting, etc. This type of photographer creates his or her artistic impression of your wedding day.

Gary Ridgewell Of Bespoke photography will use a mixture of all these styles, focusing on the traditional style; which parents of the bride and groom like.

When meeting with photographers, view not only a portfolio of a mixture of weddings, also ask to view an album of a full wedding. Make certain the photos were from current weddings and that he/she was the photographer. (Larger companies and even some smaller ones may have multiple photographers that shoot for them, or even sales representatives that meet with you.)

While looking at the photographs ask yourself these questions about style:
Are the posed photographs well lit and pleasantly arranged?
Do the candid photos show emotion and free of blur?
Do the illustrative photos have a focus point or convey a meaning of romance?
Are these the type of photos that I would want taken at my wedding?

If any of the photos do not please you, ask the photographer why the picture is this way or that. It may come to the point their view is not the same as yours. It is best to choose a photographer that will incorporate your views and not just shoot however they want, regardless of what you have in mind.

While looking at the photographs ask yourself these technical questions:
Is the light good; not to bright or to dark?
Is the lighting flattering to the mood it conveys?
Is the posing flattering?
Ask the photographer this: Was there a flash used?
(Most all professional photographers use flashes, due to low lighting in churches, or unflattering shadows in an outdoor wedding.)

Again, if any of the photos do not please you, ask the photographer why the picture is this way or that. If you are viewing their portfolio most photos should be pleasing, free of distraction, and convey emotion.

Interviewing a photographer should almost always be done in person. If you will be traveling to another state for your wedding or a photographer is flying in to you, you should view an online gallery that consists of their resent wedding work and a full wedding, as well as talk to them over the phone. Most brides interview at least three different photographers before deciding on one they enjoy, and like the style of. Expect to invest 10% or more of your wedding budget on a professional photographer

Day After sessions are one of the latest trends in wedding photography. Gone are the days of ‘pre-bridal’ sessions and worrying about getting your dress dirty. Brides and grooms can participate in a variety of fun, romantic and even sexy sessions after their actual wedding day. Sessions can be done one week, one month or even one year after the big day.

There are a variety of session types including the “trash the dress” session that has been making national headlines. A typical “trash the dress” session starts out with a bride in her wedding gown and a unique location. Artfully posed in a beautiful environment with dramatic lighting lends it’s style to a high-fashion type of photo. Most of the trash the dress style sessions end with the bride in her gown laying in sand or dirt or even in a pool of water.

The name “Trash the Dress” is sometimes misleading. It is a catchy name for artistic photos taken in unusual places. Whether or not you actually trash your dress is up to you. Most of the time a little water doesn’t hurt the dress and a little dirt can be dry-cleaned making the dress as good as new. If you are worried about ruining your dress you can talk to your photographer about location options or even wear another gown.

Gone are the days of the bride and groom sitting in front of a camera with boring flat wedding photography backgrounds.

Over the past few years, we have seen a shift in the desire to have something more interesting like on – location wedding portrait sessions, outdoor sessions and the increasingly popular ‘urban session’. An urban session is one where city streets and urban landscapes enhance the session, resulting in images which are different than those of your friends. Alleys, vacant buildings, city streets, under bridges, coffee shops and commercial signage are the rage. We have taken that one step further, to the urban western portrait session.

Recently, Gary Ridgewell from Bespoke Photography took a bride and groom for a walk in Hackney in London. We discovered a whole new world of alleys, bricked streets, and eclectic London architecture which has provided us with one of a kind images for our clients. We meet at the town hall in Hackney and started our portrait session there. Painted on the south side of the radio station is the famous western mural. Many times, we photograph the bride and groom with a 15mm lens fisheye to capture an unusual effect and western feel to the image. Here, we photograph the bride with the groom standing behind her, slightly out of focus. Then we reverse the couple.

As we walk throughout City, we find beautiful light in the shadows of existing buildings. A casual stroll with our clients in front of the camera, usually result in a lot of hugging and kissing pictures. Many times our clients get so into it, they are forgetful of our presence and really relax. This is where our best images come from. Their laughing, smiling, and natural expressions are the more popular ones our clients prefer. As we head north and east toward Main Street, images of the groom picking up his bride and twirling her around are popular with the Hackney Empire as the backdrop. Some of our grooms have even proposed to their bride on the steps of that Town Hall.

Next, we travel across the Thames River to Greewich. Also famous for the London Eye and home to many famous restaurants and bars. The Cattleman’s Steakhouse, Joe T Garcia’s, Lonesome Dove Restaurant, The Cadillac Bar and Billy Bob’s are just to name a few. We like to wander around Main and Exchange Streets for a more western feel to the portrait session. Our brides ask for permission to change into their wedding dress in the Stockyards Hotel in the Quanah Parker room.

Murals and wooden split rail fences add to the desire for western charm. By stepping off into the alleys and back roads, we can find that more rustic feel, which makes the session more enjoyable and the final images more dynamic.
